OMASTA

OMASTA

Omasta blends jazz, hip-hop, and street culture into a distinctive sound built on heavy drums, deep basslines, and melodic horn and piano arrangements. The band's name comes from the Kraków dialect and refers to the fat added to a dish for extra flavour — a fitting metaphor for the character of their music.

Formed in Kraków, Poland, Omasta officially debuted in 2024 with a concert dedicated to J Dilla. Since then, the group has performed at acclaimed festivals and venues across Poland and Europe, including London Jazz Festival, OFF Festival, Gent Jazz Festival, The Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott's, and AB Brussels.

Omasta has collaborated with artists such as Madlib, Aquiles Navarro, Tenderlonious, Marysia Osu, and Leszek Żądło, developing a unique musical language that bridges jazz improvisation and beat culture. In 2025, the band released its debut album on Astigmatic Records, earning critical acclaim and recognition in several international “best of” lists.
